With over 150 years of furniture making heritage, Alstons is a proudly British brand built on craftsmanship, quality, and care.
Founded in 1860 by brothers and master cabinet makers William and Ambrose Alston, the family business grew from a small workshop in Suffolk into one of the UK’s most respected upholstery manufacturers. By 1980, it was occupying a number of satellite factories in addition to its Colchester base which was run by the fifth generation of Alston brothers.
