Tree Planting Scheme

The basic idea of this scheme is that for every piece of furniture that you buy we will plant a tree, we have been doing this since November 2008 and as we grow so will our efforts to grow more trees!

As of March 2010 A world of furniture has now planted over 30,000 trees in local woodlands and plantations. Our Eco unique schemes have now made us officially the regions most prominent Environmentally freindly furniture retailer, for which we have been recognised at the South Wiltshire Business Awards where we were presented as the winners of the Environmental Business of the Year Award in both 2008 and 2010...with the runner up spot in 2009 which is nice!

Now as an update on the previous paragraph we are now (as of January 2013..) fast approaching 65,000 trees! This was coupled with giving away over 1,500 Fir tree sapplings over the 2012 Christmas period and over 2500 Firs and oaks the previous winter.

We do not just limit ourselves to planting trees though, in our stand to help protect our environment we also:

• Recycle over 22 tonnes of Cardboard a year
• Help with Local Bee rearing and Conservation projects
• Monitor Electricity useage throughout all our sites/warehouses and shops....
• Efficiently control our fleet of Delivery vehicles with Eco GPS systems...
• Have started an Educational Programme with some local schools whereby we are reconnecting Children with their environment and nature through Bushcraft.
• All of the furniture we sell is sourced from sustainable timber plantations.
